Cacao Husk Tea - 1/2lb Bag

Taste the chocolatey tea that has a light and pleasant flavor but isn't energizing like ceremonial cacao.

Cacao husks are the shells that grow on the outside of the seeds (a.k.a. beans, similar to peanut husk). After the cacao is toasted over wood fire, the husks are removed when the seeds are crushed or peeled.

Often the husks go to waste, or sometimes they are used to decorate the altar in a Mayan ceremony.

We're happy to offer a more sustainable option. Cacao husks actually brew a very nice tea that can be made hot or iced!

We source our cacao husk tea from El Grano de Oro, a biodiverse 11th generation cacao farm in Tabasco, Mexico. Everything at the farm is grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizers.

We're starting out with a very small batch of cacao husk tea. Grab some before it's gone!
