All staff are involved with both "front of house" (FOH) and "back of house" (BOH) duties. While the cafe is open, we float back and forth between the two.
COMPENSATION & HOURS:
SCHEDULE: Shifts currently run 11:30am-5:30pm. We're open to the public from 1-5pm Tues-Sat, but our public schedule has been fluctuating a lot and we might have more days focused on private events and BOH-type work. We are closed on all federal holidays. Time off is flexible with at least two weeks notice, but unpaid.
REQUIRED: Effective written and verbal communication skills, organization skills, relevant food industry experience, current food handler card and familiarity with food safety code, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, self-reliance, adaptability, good verbal and written communication, good attitude, friendly demeanor but ability to focus quietly when needed, willing to follow instructions, ability to ask for help if something's wrong or you don't know the answer, ability to blow the customer's mind with thoughtfulness, ability to work in teams and alone, ability to lift up to 50lbs, and ability to work mostly on your feet for 4-8 hour shifts. MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF FULL COVID-19 VACCINATION, AND A BOOSTER IF VACCINATION WAS 6 OR MORE MONTHS AGO.
PREFERRED: E-commerce and order fulfillment (shipping) experience. Food prep and/or product packing experience. Familiarity with the ceremonial cacao movement. Experience with raw foods, superfoods, chocolate and/or cacao. Experience in a rapidly changing start-up business is also a plus but not required. And a desire to make the world a better place.
