The story of cacao in Mexico is filled with mysticism, magic and a rich history that began in the heart of the jungle over 4,000 years ago. From before the height of the Maya throne of the Kingdom of Palenque to the very last days of the Aztec empire of Tenochtitlan and beyond, there are records of cacao’s vital importance for the ancients of Mexico, including births, weddings, rites of passage, funerals and death rites.

Ancestral cacao wisdom was almost lost after the colonization of Mesoamerica, yet through the messages and secrets left at archeological ruins of Mexico and Central America, and within the codices of past civilizations, we have the keys to decode the intricate connection between the ancients, cacao and the cosmos including Venus, Orion, the Pleiades and Aldebaran.

Crystal works in the realms of ancestral medicine, lineage decolonization and is a seasoned cacao facilitator. She lives in Mexico researching the ancient origins of cacao and the archeological connections in tandem with ancestral repair work of her MesoAmerican lineages.
