Intro to a "Cousin" of Cacao: Pataxte/Macambo

Did you know "Theobroma" is a family with multiple species of trees?

Theobroma cacao is the best known. It's a cacao tree! What chocolate and ceremonial cacao come from.

Theobroma bicolor is more rare and is known by many names. In South America they call it macambo or majambo. In Guatemala and Mexico they call it pataxte (pronounced "pah-tash-tay"). Sometimes it's even called the Jaguar Tree – maybe because of the loose resemblance of the macambo pod to jaguar fur.
