The more I drink it, the more I like it!

This is definitely a darker, dryer cacao with slightly more bitter notes than other varieties. I get hints of peanut butter on the nose. I find it very grounding and settling, comforting. At first I wasn't a fan of the bitterness, but the more I drink it, the more I am enjoying it's flavor profile

By far one of the best cacaos, I've ever had the chance to try 😌 I wish it wasn't a limited edition and instead more of an addition 🥰

Good news... Fuego is now part of our regular line-up and will be available on an ongoing basis!!

CLEARANCE: Fuego 100% Pure Ceremonial Cacao Paste from Guatemala

FUEGO IS BEING DISCONTINUED! SO WE'RE SELLING IT AT A DISCOUNT.

Fuego cacao is named after the traditional wood fire used to toast the cacao seeds. The cacao is grown in the historic cultivation area of Suchitepéquez near the Pacific coast, and undergoes a light fermentation of only three days. Then the cacao seeds are taken to a collective in San Marcos la Laguna to be toasted and peeled. Profile: dark and crisp, with a hint of lime aftertaste. *Our labels and branding are approved by the producers, and we have their consent to share the cacao for the betterment of humanity.*

*amounts are per 1oz of cacao paste

Cacao has been considered sacred in Mesoamerica for thousands of years, long before the chocolate industry altered the original treasure. It has numerous superfood benefits, and can also deepen introspective practices like yoga and meditation.

Every purchase of this cacao supports Mayan indigenous people through ethical direct trade, and helps them preserve their spiritual traditions and values. For more info about us and our partners, visit our Sources page.

DIRECTIONS
To make a drink of ceremonial cacao, finely chop the cacao. Measure 1/4 cup ground cacao and 6-8 oz of hot water (steaming but not boiling). Mix with a blender (with caution!), handheld frother, or other agitator to fully melt the cacao. Optional: Add a dash of cayenne pepper and natural sweetener to taste. Enjoy!

Cacao can also be added to smoothies, oatmeal, ice cream, and other foods. Experiment with making your own chocolates or bliss balls!
